Meibomian gland dysfunction also well known as MGD
is one of the problem that can affect the eye the eye vision .
There gland
are found in both the upper and the lower eyelids, ranging in number from 20 to 40 and from 20 to 30 respectively.
Thee glands secrets oils to the eye to keep the tears from evaporating too
quickly, when this glands cannot function optimally, the volume of oil secreted greatly reduces and these
condition is called meibomian gland dysfunction.
One of the
consequence of the above condition is the dry eye, which I the lack of enough
tears in to lubricate the eye, a person
with MGDs is likely to have dry eye due
to inadequate tears in the eye.
Another effect of MDGs is blepharitis a diseases
that affect the eyelids. An inflammation
of the eyelids , though bacterias and fungi can also cause blepharitis .
Another glans that can cause vision problem is the
thyroid glands, thyroid produces glands but when the glands are over-secreted
or under-secreted this is an
abnormalities, but only the first one cause eye problem , known as graves
diseases ,
The third
glands that causes eye problem is the pituitary glands , when pituitary glands
has disorders and tumors are formed,
this glands is situated in the head close to the brains, when the
pituitary tumors occur due to disorder, and this tumors come in between the eye
nerves and te brain, when these tumors pinches the eye nerves, a sudden loss of
vision consciousness and even death can occur due to the bleeding in the
brains.
Therefore these three glands can cause cause vision, not by themselves but due to
dysfunction, the meibomian glands of the eyelids, the thyroid under-secretion
and the pituitary tumor.
