Common eye problems or vision impairment due aging
are a as a result in the change in functionalities of many glands and cells and
nerves in the body. As we age our physical stenght decreases ame thing to our
eye vission , when we age, many glands and cells tens to function abnormally as
we age.
There are
many age-related eye vision problems , below are some of them:
Cataract: this is the clouding of the eye lens, the
vision become hazy and blurry , yellowing of colors is common, ; activities
like reading , night driving and other hobbies can be hindered if you have
cataract.
Diabetic eye diseases: too much of sugar level in the blood can
cause eye problem as we age, a simple example of diabetic age-related eye
problem is retinopathy , this is when high sugar level in the blood damages the
blood vessels in the retina, diabetic vision problem can lead to total loss of
vision if not treated.
Glaucoma: this is a disease that damages the eye
active nerves and result to loss of vision and blindness.
Dry eye: as we age the production of tears in the
eye reduces, this result to low lubrication in the eye, a small friction cause
damages to the tiny and delicate blood vessels in the eye, common symptoms of dry eyes are redness of
the eye, swellings of the eye, and itching of the eye. Also melbomian gland
dysfunction can also cause fast tears evaporation and thereby causing the dry
eyes.
Low vision :
this is when you cannot see clearly even after using contact lenses, medicines
or surgery. People with low vision fin difficulty in reading and using
television.
Therefore the
four age-related eye disorders are glaucoma, dry eyes, low vision and cataracts , there are many other but with
