| a lazy eye on thee right |
A lazy eye is when one eye see clearly than the other,
hence it is tagged the lazy eye, this usually caused when the brain favors a
signal from one eye than the other and hence the other eye is the lazy eye. It can be fixed by following one of the following
recommendations.
Using glasses: a lazy eye can be
corrected using a programmable digital eye glasses, these glasses are effective
as eye patches.
,atropine drop: this can be used to
treat lazy eye in children , a daily dosage of atropine drop can be given to a
child, and within a period of six month
a significant improvement can be seen and this works as well like eye patching.
One interesting thing about this atropine drug is that , it does not cause skin
irritation, and seems to be more comfortable to children, as some children may
dislike using eye patching. This treatment is more effective when use on
children , as amblyopia development is
more pronounced in childhood than adulthood.
Eye
patching:
this is aimed to force the weaker eye to work better like the other
eye; it is one by blocking the better
eye and forcing the weaker eye to see clearly, this will exercise the weaker eye and make it more
active. This should be used on child be used on a child for at least an hour a
day, you r child may show some initial resistance and may try to take off the
eye patch but with time i will get use to it. The best solution is to use an
eye patch that is skin irritation-free, so as to avoid the child from
scratching the area.
Other measures to correct weak or
lazy eye are vision therapy, which includes, visual-motor processing activities
, neurological therapies and eye exercises .
