You cannot tell how long will glaucoma will
lead to total blindness because it does sow any sign and symptoms until wen it
is almost evident.
However we can tell how long it can take for
glaucoma to change from peripheral blindness to a total blindness,
Glaucoma has here sages; the initial,
intermediate and the final stages, at the initial stages, patient will only be
seeing darkness around the edges of object, the central part of the object
he/se is seeing will appear clear to him,
he will seeing hazy or blurry vision around the edges of any object his
eye is focusing. . At this stages
glaucoma can be reversed, when treated.
Therefore anything possible should be done at
this initial stages to stop the glaucoma from moving to the final stages so as
to stop total vision loss.
As time goes on, and the glaucoma is left
untreated, it move from this initial stages to the intermediate stages , at
this stages , e only see a part of the object he is focusing on, in fact he is looking
at 5 people in a group he can only see the
two or three, while the rest will be invincible to him, at this point
his vision is only on the central point
and his peripheral vision is one. At this stages glaucoma can be reversed,
when treated.
At the final stages, his vision is completely
gone and he cannot see anything, a this stages there is nothing can be gone to
regain eyesight,
Glaucoma causes an irreversible
permanent vision lost, it is an eye infection that destroy completely the optical
nerves that transmit visual neurons to the brain.
Therefore the time it will take from the
initial stages to the final is normally from ranges from 15 years or less if
left untreated.
