It simply means the tiny blood
vessel in your eye got expanded, and blood circulating through your eye is now
visible to an unaided eye (microscopically there are blood vessels in the eye
but due to how tiny they are the blood that flows through them are invisible to
an unaided eye) , the redness could also be due to other causes as we will
discuss below.
Red veins in the eye is an
indication of several health problems or complications and it may be due to
some mild issues, it occur when the blood vessel in the eye become irritated or
swollen.
When dust particles, pepper,
insects or any foreign body get into the eye, the eye get irritated and it
reddens or lack of adequate sleeps cause the redness. This is types of redness
is same with a temporary bloodshot.
The above kind of redness is mild and it occur all
over the eye, this kind of redness occur also when someone cried for a longer
time, but when there is visible red
veins in eyes, it is sign of serious health concern. A visible red vein in the eye may be due to
an injury to the eye, a bacterial or viral infections, a cut in the eye or a
blockage to the veins in the eye.
It could be due to an eye infection that is left
untreated, use of eye medications or cosmetic that is allergic to the eye , a
prolonged use of any drug, this is drug abuse and this will not different with
the eye.
Over- exposure to sunlight without the use of sun shades and or staring a screen for too long , it could be tv
screen or computer screen.
In a nutshell a red lines in your eyes indicate a
serious health concerns it is advisable to see a professional for immediate
treatment before it escalate to other issues.
